    Jean Cabane

This is the first phossil (interpetation of a given photograph hand-painted onto porcelain) of Jean Cabane based on a photograph of his portrait I took at his house in Quarante, southern France. I was invited to stay at this house many years ago by my friend Raphael Benoit Cattin, whose family (who are related to Cabane) now own the house. During many subsequent visits over an 11 year period, I’ve photographed this house and its contents and Raphael and I are now planning a book based on the results. This house is a rare species given that it remains more or less as it was , still filled with stories, relics and memories of a time past.
